The evidence of Lieut. Brewster and Captain Hattersley
Smith are read over to the Master of the "Shikoku Maru" who
states that in his opinion only about 2 minutes elapsed
between the firing of the third and fifth shots.
The Court are of opinion that the examination battery
were justified in firing and that the fault lies with the
Master of the "Shikoku Maru".
